Dee
Dee Sandt (Director/ Choreographer)
Since March
of 2004 Dee has served as Executive Director to Beaufort Performing
Arts at University of South Carolina Beaufort. Her accomplisments can
me found on the her resume page.
December
of 2003, Dee directed and choreographed OLIVER for Charleston Stage
in the historical Dock Street Theatre to critical acclaim (see reviews).
Among her most recent credits is as choreographer of the critical acclaimed
GERSHWIN AT FOLLY for Charleston Stage in Charleston, SC. ( see reviews
) Last year she directed and choreographed JERRY'S GIRLS for Western
Michigan which won not only critical acclaim ( see reivews ) but also
best theatre of 2002 in the Southwest Michigan area. Dee Dee also choreographed
KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN for Western Michigan University also to critical
acclaim.
Dee
Dee served a two-year residency at Southwest Missouri State University,
where, as Artist-In-Residence, she directed and choreographed William
Finn's A NEW BRAIN to critical acclaim. She also choreographed THE SECRET
GARDEN and was responsible for the creation of "Syncopation,"
the musical theatre touring company for SMSU. Also in Springfield she
choreographed THE FIVE CHRISTMASES an original musical by John Forester.
This
past summer Dee Dee choreographed LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS for the Barn
Theatre in Augusta, Michigan, the second oldest Equity summer stock
company in the country. The previous year at the Barn Theatre, she choreographed
OLIVER! starring John Newton and Robin Haynes.
She served as Interim Director of Musical Theatre Performance at Western
Michigan University from 1998 to 1999.
Among
her other credits for direction and choreography are AS BEES IN HONEY
DROWN, THE FIVE CHRISTMASES (a new musical by John Forester), THE ROCKY
HORROR SHOW, and the national tours of GIGI, ANYTHING GOES, CHIGACO,
and CAN CAN.
Dee
Dee owned and operated 3D II International, Inc.; a national touring
company that presented Broadway shows around the United States and Canada
for ten years.
She
freelances as a director/choreographer throughout the country.
